Does this sound like me?
Lyna Hijazi

Does this sound familiar?
Many people don’t recognize narcissistic abuse at first. They just know they’ve lost themselves.
You replay conversations, trying to work out what really happened.
You feel like you’re always walking on eggshells.
You apologize for things that weren’t your fault.
You’ve stopped trusting your own memory, feelings or judgment.
You feel drained, anxious or numb, and further from friends and family than before.
You’ve left, yet you still feel stuck, ashamed or pulled back.
These are common effects of emotional abuse by a partner or parent. They are not signs that you’re weak, and you’re not alone in them.
Meet Lyna
I’ve been where you are. I found my way back, and I’ll help you find yours.
I’m Lyna Hijazi, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and my work focuses on recovery from narcissistic abuse. That focus is personal. I was once in a relationship with a narcissist, and I know how slowly and quietly it can wear down your confidence, your sense of reality and your sense of who you are.
Therapy helped me rebuild. That experience is why I trained as a psychotherapist, and why I founded NAR Psychotherapy: so that people going through this can work with therapists who truly understand it.
In our sessions, you won’t have to convince me that what happened was real. Together we’ll make sense of it, and help you rebuild your trust in yourself, your boundaries and your relationships.
A narcissist doesn’t just break your heart. They can break your spirit. That’s why healing takes care, and why you deserve support through it.

What healing can look like
Recovery happens in stages. You don’t have to know where you are to begin.
1
Understand what happened
Put words to the patterns you lived through, so the confusion and self-blame start to lift.
2
Feel safe in your body again
Learn practical ways to calm anxiety, sleep better and step out of constant alert.
3
Trust yourself again
Reconnect with your own judgment, needs and voice, and quiet the inner critic that took over.
4
Reclaim your life
Set boundaries that hold, rebuild relationships and move forward with a clearer sense of self.

What if I’m not sure it was narcissistic abuse?
You don’t need a label to start. If something in a relationship left you confused, anxious or doubting yourself, that’s reason enough to talk. We’ll make sense of it together, without rushing to name it.
Do I need to have left the relationship first?
No. Some clients are still in the relationship, some are leaving, and some left years ago. Therapy can help wherever you are, including thinking through your options safely.
Do you work with men?
Yes. Men experience narcissistic abuse too, from partners, parents and family members, and they often find it harder to talk about or to be believed. You’ll be taken seriously here, and therapy is a private space to work through it at your own pace.
Can the relationship have been with a parent or family member?
Yes. Narcissistic abuse can come from a partner, a parent, a sibling or another family member. The effects are often similar, and so is the path to healing.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. What you share stays between us, within the limits set by Ontario law, such as a serious risk of harm. I’ll explain these limits clearly in our first session.
How do online sessions work?
Sessions take place over a secure video platform. All you need is a private, quiet space and a phone, tablet or computer. Many clients find it easier to open up from somewhere familiar.
Can I use my insurance?
Most extended health plans cover psychotherapy. Coverage for a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) varies by plan, so check with your provider. You’ll receive a receipt after each session to submit your claim.
